Project no- 7382213427, #VUPL21, 7382-21-3427 W.M.#12385 Brook Street Surface Parking Lot For any delay in completion, the Contractor and their sureties shall be liable for, and shall pay to the Owner, the aggregate sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) as fixed, agreed and liquidated damages for each calendar day of delay until the contract work is completed and accepted. The Contractor shall complete the total Project on or before July 15th, 2022. Contractor shall observe Louisville Metro Works requirements for work times and traffic control. Weekend work permitted with all traffic controls strictly utilized including, barricades, signs, signals, flagmen and any other MOT device or personnel needed to protect workmen and traveling public The University of Louisville Procurement Services, on behalf of University Planning, Design & Construction (UPDC), will receive Bids for the Brook Street Parking Lot. The awarded contractor will provide all permits, materials, equipment, labor, supervision, and inspections to complete the work as described and in accordance with the technical specifications prepared by K. Norman Berry Associates Architects, PLLC (Exhibit A). A. The University of Louisville is planning to construct a new parking lot located at 2400 S. Brook Street to accommodate 286 passenger vehicles. This site is also known as "Throws Field" and is approximately 2.2 acres in size. B. There are several abandoned track and field facilities associated with Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and Hammer Throw which mainly consists of concrete slabs on the north half of the site. C. There is a 20 ft. x 20 ft - 400 S.F. metal sided storage building with a concrete floor slab near the northwest corner of the site. The remainder and bulk of the site is covered by dense sod. D. A 42-inch Louisville Water Company (LWC) public water main traverses the site in the east-west direction approximately 46 feet south of the north property line. There are two large air release valves associated with the water main in the northwest and northeast corners of the site. The water main and appurtenances must be protected at all times. E. A Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E) primary electric line that serves the subject site and the Patrick Henry Hughes band field to the south traverses along the east and south property lines of the subject lot. The electric lines and all appurtenances must be protected at all times. F. A subterranean detention / infiltration basin occupies the southern 1/3 of the site and must be protected. Six manholes in a north-south line are visible at the surface. The finished grade / surface of the new parking lot shall match the rim elevations. This detention / infiltration basin outlets to a 90" x 120" combined public sewer running in the east right-of-way of Brook Street. G. The site is generally flat gently sloping to the northwest corner. H. An eight-foot vinyl coated chain
