Renovation of an educational facility in Memphis, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Shelby County Board of Education will accept written proposals for IFB #03042022MT CCTE Classroom Repairs & Renovations District 7 (3) Locations. BID BOND: Bidders are required to submit a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that may exceed $100K. Should the Bidder withdraw their bid response without entering into a contract the Bid Bond may be forfeited in whole or in part. PERFORMANCE AND LABOR BOND: The successful Bidder(s) will be required to submit a performance and/or labor bond, Cashier's or Certified Check in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that exceeds $100K. The anticipated terms of this contract shall be (1) year(s). The work shall begin after issuance of the "Notice to Proceed. Estimated start time is 5/2/2022. Substantial completion date is projected at 6/30/2022. Final completion date is projected at 7/30/2022. Questions Due February 22, 2022 2:00 PM SCBE has set a Minority or Woman-owned Business Enterprises goal percent for this project as follows: CCTE Classroom Repairs & Renovations District 7 (3) Locations - 23.1% The Board of Education reserves the right to reject or accept the recommendation submitted. If the Board accepts and approves the recommendation, an executed agreement will be submitted to the successful vendor. If the Board rejects the recommendation, SCS shall rescind the Notice of Intent to Award. The overall scope of work is to complete repairs and renovations to 17 rooms in three locations and one area landscaped, Hamilton High School, Sheffield Career and Technology Center, and Sheffield High School. Specific scopes of work will be provided for each school in this document. The Scope of Work for District 07 includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Removal of equipment from classroom - Remove heavy equipment from the classroom and take it to the warehouse at 1384 Farmville Road for disposal (the Project Manager will provide instructions on which equipment is to go to the warehouse). - Remove all non-essential materials such as desk, chairs, old cabinets, and chalkboards from the room and dispose of them completely and in their entirety. - Remove, store, and protect all equipment that is to be returned to the classroom. Storage shall be in a secured location to provide maximum security and protection from damage, theft, vandalism, etc. 2. Cabinet Demolition - Remove all cabinets completely. -Repair the walls damaged from cabinet demolition for new wall finish. 3. Painting of Rooms - New paint finish must be compatible with existing finish. New paint color shall match existing color unless noted or directed otherwise. - Remove, store, and protect all whiteboards, artwork, and base trim for reinstallation prior to wall surface preparation. Remove chalkboards completely. - Prep and repair walls, including corner repair, to smooth finish (level 4 minimum) for primer application - Prime all walls before painting - Paint walls from baseboards to ceiling. Apply minimum of two (2) coats of paint. For darker tinted colors, a minimum application of three (3) coats is required - Paint all exposed conduit and boxes - Reinstall whiteboards and install new whiteboards in place of chalkboard locations. - Refinish entry doors and frames on both sides - Paint to and around counters, fixtures, and partitions 4. Plumbing - Repair leaks as noted and directed. Contractor to notify owner's representative/ project manager of any additional work required to repair leak. - Where the plumbing must be capped, cut off the main and cap inside the wall. -All new plumbing fixtures shall be ADA compliant and installed per ADA standards and per current adopted building codes. - Repair the wall. - Install eyewash station as required per current adopted building codes and ADA standards. - Build a boxed platform from floor to eyewash station. 5. Electric - Remove all electrical from the cabinet areas back to the main panel. Electrical shall be defined as switches, outlets, wiring, surface mounted junction boxes, surface mounted conduit, etc. If junction box in wall is to remain, a blank plate shall be installed as required by code. - Install electrical panel cover. - Change outlet to correct voltage - Update electrical sockets to orange surge suppressor sockets - Remove electrical wiring from the floor - Equal number of electrical sockets on each wall (preferably two) - Repair the wall and prepare surface for new finish. 6. Equipment Installation - Install all equipment according to manufacturer specifications. Installation shall meet or exceed all current applicable adopted codes and regulations. - Prior to Owner acceptance, all equipment shall be tested for functionality after installation. -. Deep Cleaning - Clean entire area removing all dirt, grease, and other unsanitary items. -Clean all equipment and tables/work areas to include the storage room and closet. 8. Flooring - Remove, store, and protect the existing base molding for reinstallation. - Remove the existing floor finish completely down to substrate. - Repair the floor as required and prepped for new floor finish material - Prep the floor for new tile installation using current color scheme. - Install new tile as required by manufacturer. - Reinstall the existing base molding 9. Landscaping - Landscape around the entrance of the school. - Provide a render of the proposed landscaping - Provide a list of plants to be used - These are necessary for the approval of the purposed landscape 10. Construction -Removal, fabrication or installation of windows, structures and etc. - Must be installed and the area repaired in accordance with Shelby County Code. 11. Installation of Tire Storage Carts - Pick up tire storage carts from Southwest Career and Technology Center, 3746 Horn Lake Rd. 38109. -Install tire storage carts at the following locations: i. Whitehaven-Automotive Lab, 4851 Elvis Presley 38116 ii. East T-STEM-Automotive Lab, 3206 Poplar 38111 iii. Germantown High-Automotive Lab, 7653 Old Poplar Pike 38138 iv. Kingsbury CTC-Automotive Lab, Address 1328 N. Graham 38122 v. Craigmont High-Automotive Lab, 3333 Covington Pike 38128 vi. Trezevant CTC-Automotive Lab, 3224 Range Line 38127 vii. Cordova High-Automotive Lab, 1800 Berryhill Rd. 38016 viii. Bolton High-Automotive Lab, 7323 Brunswick Rd. 38002
