The Intent of this Request for Tender is to obtain a qualified Contractor to apply approved Crack Sealing to various Hot Mix Asphalt Roads within the Town of Huntsville. Documents can be obtained at: https://huntsville.bidsandtenders.ca Question Deadline: Tue Feb 1, 2022 12:00:00 PM (EST) The Intent of this Request for Tender is to obtain a qualified Contractor to apply approved Crack Sealing to various Hot Mix Asphalt Roads within the Town of Huntsville. The Crack Sealing program consists of Cleaning (blowing) and sealing of unrouted cracks in hot mix asphalt roads with hot poured rubberized asphalt sealant compound. The contract also includes a provisional item for routing of existing cracks and sealing routed cracks in hot mix asphalt roads. Following the contract award, the successful contractor and the Town will meet to review the contract locations to determine the most suitable application for each location. Bidders shall note that the contract has provided for an approximate length of 20,000 linear metres on various roads throughout the Town of Huntsville. The final amount of crack sealing will be based upon the budgeted amount. All work is to be completed within 20 working days from the approved start date. Work shall take place during daylight hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday inclusive. The required work shall be carried out in accordance with OPSS. MUNI.341 - Construction specification for Routing and Sealing Cracks in Hot Mix Pavement and by a contractor of recognized standing, having proven experience in this type of work and the necessary equipment and labour to carry out the work properly. Contractor is responsible for all Traffic Control as per MTO Book #7. Contractor is responsible to submit all Traffic Control Plans to the Town of Huntsville Designate. The Town shall, at its discretion, reduce or increase the scope of crack sealing program in order to ensure the budgeted amount is not exceeded. There shall be no compensation to the Contractor for any reduction in the contract value and scope. Any required restoration as a result of the operation, shall be carried out within five (5) days after the commencement of the initial work.
