As of February 2025, this project will begin in March of 2025. The scope of services includes project management, public involvement, preliminary layouts, traffic engineering, storm water management planning, wetland delineation, and permits, final construction plans for State Aid approval, special provisions, construction estimates, bidding documents, and right-of-way acquisition. The current Broadway Ave N between the Silver Lake Bridge and Elton Hills Dr NW is a 4-lane bituminous roadway with turn lanes. The roadway is designated as an urban strategic arterial on the ROCOG 2045 Long-Range Transportation Plan and as an urban minor arterial on the federal functional classification. The east side of the roadway is both residential and commercial and the west side is primarily commercial. The posted speed limit is 30 miles per hour (mph) from the Silver Lake Bridge to 14 St NE and 40 miles per hour (mph) from 14 St NE to Elton Hills Dr NW. The consultant will be expected to commence work on the project within 30 days of contract execution by both parties and to complete all work no later than January 31, 2024. This project is currently programmed in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as a 2024 project. The selected consultant's construction plans and specifications shall meet all relevant requirements of applicable local, state, and federal codes, ordinances, and regulations including the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Engineering Consultant will be expected to meet with officials, councils, citizen groups, boards, and commissions as is necessary to satisfy this obligation.
