Renovation and addition to a library in Toronto, Ontario. Working plans call for the renovation of a 7,000-square-foot library; and for the addition of a 3,000-square-foot library.
Renovation of Pleasant View Library and expansion of the existing 7,000 square foot (651 sq. m.) library to a 10,000 square foot (929 sq. m.) library. The 2020 - 2024 Toronto Public Library Strategic Plan prioritizes physical spaces. Library buildings are highly valued as vital physical and social infrastructure and community connectors. The goal is to create and animate accessible, inclusive public spaces that are flexible and sustainable to inspire Torontonians to be and grow together. The addition of 3,000 square feet will bring the branch up to the minimum standard for a Neighborhood branch. TIMELINE: Design is complete. Contact for the consultants is not available at this time. Funding has been allocated in the 2022-2031 Capital Budget and Plan for this project. Tender and construction timing will be finalized late summer/early fall, 2024.
