Renovation of an educational facility in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,300-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

The Project includes the following Roofing Replacement at Stilwell Junior High, located at 1601 Vine Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265. 1. Tear off and replacement of approximately 14,300 square feet of existing roofing system with new vapor barrier, flat-tapered polyisocyanurate insulation, coverboard and 90-mil fully adhered EPDM membrane assembly. 2. New roof assembly will include a thirty (30) year manufacturer's warranty with a five (5) year contractor installation warranty. 3. All sheet metal copings, flashings, edge, fascia, boots and related accessories will be removed and replaced with new 24-gauge Kynar finished metal. Manufacturer's twenty (20) year paint warranty shall be included for these components. The Project site will be available to commence work starting on June 6th, 2022. The project areas shall be completed by August 12th, 2022. Bid Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security of five (5) percent (%) from bid bond, cashier's check or certified check in the same amount. The bid security shall be provided to the WDMCS District as security that if the bidder is awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract on the form provided by the WDMCS District at the price bid and shall furnish the required performance bond, payment bond and Certificate of Insurance. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance bond, payment bond or Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the WDMCS District as liquidated damages. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades. Bidders may be required to provide evidence of experience with similar project types of similar scale. The Board of West Des Moines Community School District reserves the right to conduct such investigations as it deems necessary to assist in evaluation of bid proposals and to establish the responsibilities, qualifications and financial abilities of the proposed bidders, subcontractors, suppliers or other organizations. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor.
