Anticipated Scope of Work & Deliverables Geotechnical field investigation and laboratory services required to support AWSP design activities may include: o Mobilization and Demobilization o Drill rig set-ups o Overburden drilling with standard penetration testing on soil at regular 2.5 ft intervals with or without collection of undisturbed samples for laboratory testing including soil and rock description and classification as per ASTM D-1586/1587. o Rock drilling and coring (if rock encountered) o Standpipe piezometer installation in soil/rock o Maintaining records and geologic logs o Handling, transporting samples, and storing samples o Color photography of rock cores (if required by scope) o Backfilling the holes as per standards and all state/federal regulations o Restoring work areas to pre-existing conditions o Laboratory testing on soil, rock, and water samples; and o Preparation of Geotechnical Data Reports including exploration procedure, printed boring and piezometer logs, laboratory testing information and data, as-built location/coordinate of boreholes and piezometers. Firms selected to perform geotechnical field investigation work packages will be required to: 1. Complete Stantec's Tier 2 - 103A Sub Prequalification Submittal (See Appendix A) documenting its insurance and health and safety provisions. 2. Execute a subcontract with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. A sample subcontract and generic scope of work is included as Appendix B to this Request for Qualifications. 3. Comply with requirements of permits or access agreements needed for performance of the specified field investigations. 4. Complete actions required to confirm the location of existing utilities in the vicinity of proposed boring locations and to be responsible for protection repair of any damage to the utilities. 5. Complete field investigations and laboratory analyses in accordance with the specifications for the geotechnical investigation work package. 6. Prepare and submit Geotechnical Data Reports including exploration procedure, printed boring and piezometer logs, laboratory testing information and data, as-built location/coordinate of boreholes and piezometers. All deliverables and written communications with the City, Stantec, and members of the StantecCMT Team should be prepared and sent with the understanding that they are subject to the Illinois Public Records Act.
