Renovation of a transportation facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Project Number: 32208.017. Sixteen 118-year old historically significant windows in deteriorate condition at the Washington Blvd Shops will be replaced. The windows have several problems including lead paint, deteriorated wood, missing panes of glass and inoperable sashes. The new windows will be aluminum double glazed replacements with screens, single hung, low maintenance, high energy efficiency with fixed elliptical quarter windows above. Replacement to be consistent with requirements mandated by the Maryland Historic Trust. Project Cost Class E - $2,500,000 to $5,000,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This Contract is for work on the windows at the 16 gables of the historic Washington Boulevard Shops at the Bus Maintenance Facility for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). This work is considered the Base Bid. ADD ALTERNATE NO. 1 includes electrical window operators in lieu of manual window operators. B. The Work of Project as the Base Bid is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Removal and replacement of monumental gable windows at the Washington Boulevard Shops with new aluminum windows to match existing sizes, profiles, and sightlines of the historic windows at the north and south ends of Buildings 1 through 8; 2. Removal of lead-based paint from architectural decorative trim surrounding the gable windows at Buildings 2 through 8 and repainting of the same; 3. Repair of minor damaged and deteriorated metal at the architectural decorative trim surrounding the gable windows at Buildings 2 through 8; 4. Removal of deteriorated wood architectural decorative trim and replacement with new prefinished architectural decorative metal trim around the north and south gable windows at Building 1 to match the size and profile of historic architectural decorative metal trim surrounding the gable windows at Buildings 2 through 8; 5. Removal and replacement of deteriorated slate shingle gable cladding at north and south gables at Building 1 to match size, color, material properties, and thickness of historic slate shingles at other gables at Buildings 2 through 8; 6. Remove and replace a few deteriorated slate shingles within the gable cladding at Buildings 2 through 8 to match size, color, material properties, and thickness of historic slate shingles; 7. Retain and reinstall the existing four louvers at the north gable of Building 5, and remove and replace four louvers (two each at the north and south gables) at Building 1; and 8. Other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.
