The University of Virginia (University or UVA) invites highly qualified architectural firms to submit Letters of Interest/ Statements of Qualifications and associated supporting materials for consideration in the selection of consultants to provide a full range of architectural services for healthcare, science, and technology programs on a Term Contract basis. Architectural services associated with this Term Contract will generally support the Health System, sciences, and engineering programs non-capital and capital projects for both new construction and renovations; however, the University reserves the right to engage architectural services in support of other areas. All work will be performed in accordance with the provisions of the University of Virginia Higher Education Capital Outlay Manual (HECOM). The University may make multiple Term Contract awards from this solicitation. There will not be a first Service Order associated with this procurement. Each of the selected firms will be awarded a Term Contract to provide consulting architectural services along with their first Service Order. Additional Service Orders may be written under the terms of the agreement that are of a similar nature including, but not limited to, planning, design, and construction administration of patient care facilities (inpatient, outpatient, and specialty care units) and/or technologically complex science and engineering facilities within an academic setting. The successful firms will have an in-depth understanding of a variety of patient care facilities including inpatient services, surgical suites, and specialty and acute care units, and experience with academic research and instructional facilities. Experience with existing hospital and research building evaluations in conjunction with healthcare and science facility program planning will also be required. The selected consultants must be able to respond quickly to UVA Health or academic projects that may have short-term deadlines. The duration of the contracts shall be for one year or a maximum dollar value of $1,000,000 in fees, whichever occurs first. The contracts shall include four (4) additional one-year contract renewals at the University's option, under the same terms and conditions. The University does not guarantee that the selected firm(s) will receive any Service Orders. Quarterly reporting of expenditures to SWaM consulting firms or suppliers used in this contract will be required for the selected firms.
