Allows zero unit prices and labor Yes Allows negative unit prices and labor Yes The Forest Brook Ditch is located in a residential area in the center of a residential roadway. The scope of the project is to remove and replace areas of deteriorated concrete in the channel flow line and side slopes, remove any immediately adjacent vegetation, and restore disturbed areas with seeding. It is the project intent to perform the maintenance and construction during the driest weather; however any dewatering, bypass pumping or damming necessary to construct the work shall be included and incidental to individual work items. Any damming of the drainage way shall accommodate water flows and not cause a back-up that creates damage to any property. The channel bottom is to be cleared and cleaned. Upon cleaning, channel bottom is to be inspected by City Inspector to determine if any panels should be replaced. Access to the ditch is limited to the areas immediately adjacent to Forest Brook Blvd. All contractors are highly encouraged to visit the site to ensure an understanding of access constraints and the equipment necessary to perform the work. Any damage to the existing concrete channel or public or private property during the project must be restored to a condition equal or better to that existing before the damage at the contractor's expense. The drainageway is located within the right-of-way; however, construction work should minimize impact to adjacent properties and be limited to areas defined by these specifications. The City will mail notifications to affected homeowners notifying them of work to be done. Note: Work items and quantities are projected and expected to change to fit needs of actual field conditions, budget, and other potential issues. Prices will not change due to change in quantities or cost escalation. Payment for work items not included as a specific pay item shall be considered incidental to other work items. This includes, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, remobilization, etc. Attached for reference is a Location Map showing the approximate limits for the work. This is the last of three phases of work on this ditch, following the work in 2019 and 2021.
