Renovation of a water / sewer project in Edinburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
As of February 18, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Construction of modifications to the existing 0.175 MGD WWTP including upgrades at raw wastewater pumping station, new headworks building and facilities, aeration unit, clarifiers, disinfection unit, demolition work and site piping. 1. Provide all labor, material and equipment to furnish and install two (2) new 22-foot diameter circular scraper type clarifiers as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. 2. The Clarifier mechanism shall be of the bottom feed/peripheral overflow type with a central drive mechanism. The central drive shall rotate a torque tube to which are attached two (2) sludge scraper arms. 3. The Clarifier mechanism shall be designed to effectively settle mixed liquor suspended solids and scrape the settled solids from the basin floor to the centrally located sludge withdrawal hopper. The clarified effluent shall be collected uniformly by the peripheral launder. Surface scum shall be collected by the scum skimming equipment and discharged through the scum withdrawal pipe.
