This project entails grading and rock surfacing of an access road near Big Creek State Park in Polk County. Also included are CMP culvert aprons and a CMP culvert extension and ditch cleaning. Proposal Guarantee: $0 Completion Date: 5/6/2022 DOT SP-00SP(5)--7C-00 2021-SP-115 The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, at Big Creek State Park, is seeking bids for the grading and rock surfacing of an access road. CMP culvert aprons shall be added to an existing culvert. Ditch cleaning and a CMP culvert extension are required at a nearby site. Site 1 Blade and shape the existing rock road at 100th Street with a 2% crown as shown on the attached plan. The approach to two access parking areas is included in this scope as well as the full loop at the end of the road. A portion of 146th Avenue shall be graded and rocked as shown. Grade the roads to remove potholes and bumps and provide a uniform surface. Place 2" to 2-1/2" of road stone (Class "A" or DNR approved other) and shape. Blend the road surface into the shoulders and adjacent roads to provide a smooth transition. Any waste material shall be hauled to the Big Creek bone yard or hauled off site and disposed of properly. Add culvert aprons to the existing 24" diameter culvert under the road on 146th Ave. Clean and prep the existing culvert as necessary. All bands are included in bid item #4. Provide a saftey closure of all roads at 146th Ave, during the work. Site 2 Clean approximately 100 feet (1 Station) of ditch and provide a 24" CMP culvert extension to the north end of the existing culvert. Clean and prep the existing culvert as necessary.
