The successful bid will be for equipment to support research on lithium-ion batteries at the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie University. The equipment will be used by scientists to construct a custom instrument for analyzing gases generated in battery cells. Thus, the equipment should be compatible with common parts for vacuum systems, e.g., vacuum chamber with typical flange sizes. The scientists that will work with the instrument have a wide range of training backgrounds (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) and different levels of training (undergraduate summer students up to professional postdoctoral researchers). The basic functions of the system should be easy to master. Software for data acquisition should be modern. To ensure the latest information and updates regarding this bid, the onus is on the bidder to ensure they are monitoring the bidding system for issued addenda, clarifications, and instructions that may impact submissions.
