The project consists of select improvements along MT Highway 64 (MT 64) from the intersection of US Highway 191 (US 191) extending approximately 9.5 miles westward to Big Sky Resort Road. Specifically, the project includes the following components: SCHEDULE A: BIG SKY RESORT ROAD Construction of a left-turn lane and related improvements at Big Sky Resort Road. SCHEDULE B: ANDESITE ROAD TO BIG PINE DRIVE Construction of left-turn lanes at Andesite Road and Big Pine Drive. SCHEDULE C: HUNTLEY DRIVE Construction of a left-turn lane and related improvements at Huntley Drive. SCHEDULE D: LITTLE COYOTE ROAD Construction of a traffic signal, left and right-turn lanes at Little Coyote Road and a left-turn lane at Meadow Village Drive. SCHEDULE E: ANDESITE ROAD TO BIG PINE DRIVE MULTI-USE PATH Construction of a paved multi-use pathway along MT 64 from Andesite Road to Big Pine Drive. SCHEDULE F: US 191 AREA Elimination of gravel shoulder parking by extending existing curb and gutter, installation of paved bus pullouts, and installation of paved pull-outs for wildlife viewing. SCHEDULE G: CURVE WARNING SIGNAGE UPGRADES Installation of curve warning signage upgrades between Big Sky Resort Road and Andesite Road. SCHEDULE H: WILDLIFE CROSSING SIGNAGE UPGRADES Installation of wildlife crossing signage upgrades west of US 191. SCHEDULE I: LITTLE COYOTE ROAD PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL Construction of a pedestrian tunnel under MT 64 west of Little Coyote Road and related improvements. SCHEDULE J: LITTLE COYOTE ROAD PATHWAY Construction of a paved multi-use pathway along Little Coyote Road from MT 64 to the Big Sky Community Park. SCHEDULE K: LITTLE COYOTE ROAD PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE Construction of a pedestrian bridge along Little Coyote Road over West Fork Gallatin River adjacent to the Big Sky Community Park. The work will be completed within 240 calendar days after the notice to proceed date. The substantial completion and open to traffic date is October 31, 2023. The final completion and closeout punch list date shall be no later than June 1, 2024. CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR'S subcontractors bidding on this project will be required to be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) prior to award. Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. All laborers and mechanics employed by the CONTRACTOR or subcontractors in performance of the work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by law in Gallatin County and by Federal and State laws. The CONTRACTOR must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to Gallatin County Treasurer, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The successful BIDDER shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided to Gallatin County prior to starting work. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period of not to exceed ninety (90) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the OWNER.
