The EPA requires atmospheric boundary height data at each PAMS station. This data must be reported hourly so modelers can determine the vertical extent of the more polluted lower layer of the atmosphere. The data must be submitted hourly to the UCN to facilitate usage by researchers from State, Federal and Academic Institutions. The NYSDEC has two PAMS stations, one in the Bronx and one near Stony Brook. The two ceilometers will be purchased with one-time non-recurring Federal funds and will meet the data reporting requirements for the program. Location: Rensselaer, NY
