District : 06 Prequalification Requirements : Contractor must be qualified under Rule, 14-22 Response Requested : Bid Proposal / Technical Design and construction of Wrong-Way Driving (WWD) -11 ramps TRC Members (Subject to Change) : Alejandro Motta Enmanuel Espinal Patrick Marchant The Florida Department of Transportation (Department) has issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit competitive Bids and Proposals from Proposers for the design and construction of Wrong-Way Driving (WWD) Advanced Countermeasures at various Interchange Exit Ramps in Miami-Dade County. In accordance with FDOT's WWD initiative, the following 11 ramps have been identified for implementation of WWD countermeasures: I-95 SB off-ramp to NW 69 St I-95 SB off-ramp to Opa-Locka Blvd (Exit 10B) SR 826 NB off-ramp to SW 8 St SR 826 NB/SR 836 EB off-ramp to NW 72 Ave SR 826 NB off-ramp to NW 36 St SR 826 NB off-ramp to NW 25 St I-195/SR 112/Julia Tuttle Cswy off-ramp to Alton Road North (Exit 5) SR 826 NB off-ramp to West Flagler St I-75 SB off-ramp to NW 138 St/West 84 St (Exit 2) I-95 SB off-ramp to NW 81 St (Exit 7) I-95 NB off-ramp to NW 151 St (Exit 11) In general, project improvements at each location include the installation of signage, pavement markings and Light-emitting Diode (LED) Highlighted signs and vehicle detection systems in accordance with FDM Section 230.4 and Roadway Design Bulletins 21-07 and 21-10. These improvements include: DO NOT ENTER signs. WRONG WAY sign(s). For long ramps or for ramps with limited sight distance, two or three pairs of WRONG WAY signs shall be used. NO RIGHT TURN and NO LEFT TURN signs 2-4 dotted guide line striping for left turns between ramp entrances/exits and cross streets Retroreflective yellow paint on ramp median nose where applicable Straight arrow and route shield pavement marking in left-turn lanes extending from the far-side ramp intersection through the near-side ramp intersection to prevent premature left turns Straight arrow and ONLY pavement message in outside lane approaching the ramp exit One pair of Light-emitting Diode (LED) Highlighted Wrong-Way signs and vehicle detection system per ramp. For long ramps or for ramps with limited sight distance, two or three pairs of Highlighted Signs and Vehicle Detection System shall be used. ITS Cabinets, detectors, power service & lateral fiber drop for new Wrong Way Driving System. Milling and resurfacing areas of deficient or conflicting pavement markings and restoration with new pavement markings. Financial Management Number(S): 44694715201 Estimated Contract Time: 500 calendar days. The Design Build firm must complete Low Bid Design-Build Qualification Validation Form No. 700-011-36 (located on the advertisement page/Preamble) for all qualifying team members proposed. The form shall be submitted any time before April 7, 2022, by 5:00 PM.
