Site work for a water / sewer project in Goshen, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project is located in Sections 23 and 26 of Clinton Township, east of the SR 13 and CR 38 intersection. The project scope involves installing 560 L.F. of 15" plastic tile and 2,550 L.F. of 18" plastic tile. The project includes a road cut on CR 38, the installation of 5 manhole structures and connecting any encountered lateral tile to the new system. The work will be performed in an area less than 150 feet wide along the proposed route of tile. The project is scheduled to be completed by April 11, 2022. The awarded contractor will sign an agreement to a $100.00 per day charge for liquidated damages beyond the specified completion date. Proposals may be delivered to the Drainage Board at the Public Services Building prior to the specified time, or may be mailed to arrive to the Office at the County Surveyor before that time. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on proposal forms furnished by the County in accordance with Revised Indiana Form 96 and shall be accompanied by the Contractor's Financial Statement form taken from Form 96A. Proposals shall include a copy of the Contractor's Insurance Certificate with coverage in accordance with item 5.3 of the General Conditions and a list of previous projects of this nature with references shall be included with the bid. Proposals shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bank Draft payable to the Elkhart County Drainage Board, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and a surety company in an amount equal to 5% of the Bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if the Bid is accepted, will execute and file the proposed Contract and Bonds within ten days after award of the Contract. The Certified Check or Bank Draft will be returned to the bidders immediately after the signing of the Contract by the Drainage Board. A Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total Contract price will be required of the successful bidder. An irrevocable Letter of Credit will be acceptable in lieu of a Performance Bond. This Letter of Credit shall be 100 percent of Contract price and shall be in effect until 1 year after the completion of the entire Contract. The Elkhart County Drainage Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bidding, and to award a contract in the best interests of the Board, Elkhart County, and the project. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date set for the opening thereof.
