Site work for a civil project in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The scope of the project includes all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to compete the construction as shown on the project plans within the Town of Cedar Lake as follows: The project includes clearing and brushing, excavation and embankment of the proposed SDF facility, pipe removal, swale construction, installation of SESC measures, culvert, storm sewer, underdrain installation, casing pipe boring work under a railroad, casting/installation of timber and concrete water control structure, aggregate road construction, HMA patching, chain link fence and gate installation, and landscaping restoration. Layout/surveying will be necessary for the work and should be included within the bid price. It is important to the Town that the work be conducted in a timely, organized, and sequential manner. The successful bidder must be prepared to commit adequate resources to complete the work within the stated contract schedule. Contractors must be pre-qualified with the Indiana Public Works Certification Board prior to starting work on any local public works project estimated to be over three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000). Contractors will not be required to be qualified for a local unit public works project if the contract to be awarded is less than three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000); and the local unit of government complies with IC 36-1-12 in awarding the contract for the public works project. Burke Engineering, LTD by email to John LaPaglia at jlapaglia@cbbel.com and Jedd Anderson at jedd@cbbel.com. Questions shall be received no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on February 7, 2022. Responses will be provided by no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on February 8, 2022. The engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the Project name marked clearly on the outside. Bids shall be executed and submitted on the forms provided by the Town including a Bid security, Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Bid forms, Affirmative Action Statement, Non-Collusion Affidavit, E-Verify Documentation, Iran Investments Certificates, pre-qualification with the Indiana Public Works Certification Board, and a preliminary progress schedule. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Town of Cedar Lake, or bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price shall be submitted with the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish, execute, and deliver to the Town of Cedar Lake satisfactory performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the Bid Price to guarantee the faithful performance of the Work and payment of suppliers and subcontractors within seven (7) days of the Notice of Award. Contractors must be shown on the Bidder's Planholder List and attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting in order to bid. Bids received by Contractors who are not on the Bidder's Planholder List or who did not attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be rejected.
