Renovation of a power facility in Lakeland, Florida. Working plans call for the renovation of a power facility.

The city of lakeland is seeking bids from qualified contractors to replace the existing evaporative cooling and drift media at mcintosh plant unit 5. The unit 5 combustion turbine is a siemens 501g gas turbine. The intake structure is a pneumafil designed to flow 980,000 cfm with cartridge filters, pulse air and evaporative cooling system. The evaporative cooler section is located downstream of the inlet filters and is accessible from an access door on the south side, ground floor and three internal levels of ladder and grating on the front side of the media. There are eight cooler modules in the inlet structure. Each cooler module includes eight type me re-circulating type evaporative coolers using twelve-inch-deep, cellulose, fluted media fill material with top water distribution pad followed by mist eliminators.
