Site work and paving for a road / highway in Olathe, Kansas. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project will improve Quivira Road from 143rd Street to 151st Street to a 2-lane divided arterial with turn lanes. Roadway improvements to Quivira Road will consist of widening the existing 2-lane section to a 2-lane divided arterial roadway which will include a median, curb and gutter, bike lanes, 5' wide sidewalk on the west side, 10' wide sidewalk on the east side, enclosed storm sewer system, and street lighting located in the median. As of February 4, 2025, this project is currently in the FY 2024-2028 CIP. The design phase is ongoing through Fall 2025. An engineer has been selected for the project. Information regarding the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Construction is estimated to take place in Spring 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
