The work, in general, consists of: excavating and grading the base and side slopes for the new landfill expansion area, installing landfill liner system, installing leachate collection system, constructing access roads and drainage systems. A bid security of 10% is required from all bidders. The bid security must be in the form of cash, certified or cashier's check, electronic bond (eBond), or a bid bond in favor of the Department. Bid Security other than electronic bond must be received by the Department prior to the bid opening closing time specified above. The general prevailing wage rates have been determined by the Director of the State Department of Industrial Relations and it will be mandatory upon the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor to pay not less than these specified rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract, all in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770-1776 inclusive of the Labor Code.
