To plan, complete archaeological and environmental studies, design, obtain utility easements and construct 12" water transmission line in the City of Aztec, San Juan County The City of Aztec is ready to accept funding to design and construct a replacement of 14,500 feet of 12 inch water transmission line within the municipal limits of Aztec. This is a regional water line providing connection between the City of Aztec and the City of Bloomfield constructed in 2003 and has begun failing due to corrosive soils. The City is replacing small portions of the line as water breaks occur. This line is a vital connection between the two municipalities providing critical water supply to both entities in emergency situations when regular water supply has not been available. Due to the need for the line to remain in service, the line replacement will parallel the existing line but may require new environmental and cultural reports as well as new utility easements. Project process will be: Issue a RFP for design & construction management services and formal bid for construction as per the State of New Mexico Procurement Code. This project is currently in the City of Aztec 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 18, 2025, project is funded for FY2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
