The Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (CCRWOCB) recently released new general waste discharge requirements for discharges from domestic wastewater systems with flows greater than 100,000 gallons per day. The Community Service Area 18 Wastewater Treatment Plant (CSA 18 WWTP) will be regulated under the new order. Given existing effluent water quality, the CSA WWTP needs to be regulated under Option 2 of the order which requires that a groundwater monitoring program be established to demonstrate that the WWTP complies with the water quality goals of the Basin Plan. The purpose of this hydrogeologic study is to develop a groundwater monitoring workplan and preliminary hydrogeologic conceptual site model. The workplan and model must be approved by the CCRWOCB prior to implementation. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, preliminary research, preparation of a groundwater monitoring workplan, preparation of a hydrogeologic conceptual site model, preparation of a technical memorandum that summarizes the hydrogeologic model and results, preparation of a site plan and monitoring well detail, and CCWOCB correspondence assistance as needed.
