Renovation of a mixed-use development in Greensboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Questions regarding the project must be submitted in writing or by email by 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 08, 2022 to Ricky L. Loman, AIA Architect, 603 Summit Avenue, Suite 102, Greensboro, NC 27405, or at rloman@bellsouth.net. Responses will be posted on the GCS website no later than Friday, February 11, 2022. Bidders must be properly licensed for the work in accordance with Section 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. General Contractors must have a general license classification at least equal to the amount of their bid in accordance with the Rules & Regulations of the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. A 5% bid security as well as 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required for this project. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. This project requires the awarded vendor to comply with the requirements of EVerify. (U.S. law requiring companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States - either U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization.) Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The appropriate forms from the section entitled "Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses" must be submitted with each bid to show good faith efforts to obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation. The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section 168A-3. The Guilford County Schools Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities. Remove sections of the existing acoustical ceiling tile and grid, modular drywall partitions, and concrete block backup adjacent to the architectural concrete precast wall panels shown to be replaced in order to access the attachment brackets. Remove the window frames and glazing in the areas of repair where shown on the drawings. Coordinate removal and replacement of the existing damaged architectural precast wall panels. Replace the concrete block and modular drywall partitions previously removed. Install new aluminum storefront window frames and glazing where shown on the drawings to replace the windows previously removed. Repair or replace the ceiling tile and grid, replace the lighting fixtures, power and data outlets, wiring, HVAC ceiling diffusers and ductwork connections removed to facilitate the precast panel removal and installation. Install new replacement carpeting and vinyl base in the staff offices and the classroom adjacent to the hallway repair areas. Clean or replace the carpet as noted in the hallways and install new vinyl cove base
