Remodeling and renovation of a mixed-use development in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the remodel of a 56,926-square-foot, 455-seat educational facility; and for the renovation of a 10,033-square-foot day care center.
A fully integrated school in a podium of a mixed-use condo development to serve the new community at Lower Yonge Precinct. The TDSB is building an elementary school in the Block 4 of the Menkes' mixed-use development in the Sugar Wharf community. The school will accommodate 455 students from JK to Grade 8 and will be located in the 3rd floor of the condo podium with exclusive use of an active playground on the 3rd floor rooftop and shared access to a playground at the adjacent city park. Project may include a 929 sq m daycare and space for a 5,271 sq m elementary public school. TIMELINE: Designs are ongoing. Pending owner's decision to proceed, tender may be issued fall 2027. School opening is currently targeted fall 2029. Timelines are dependent on the developer's completion date for the building shell and is subject to change. The Condo Building is followed separately and is currently in the site plan approval stage at the city. Further update early spring 2026. *Ontario Provincial Government is investing 44 million for the new project in partnership with the TDSB and Menkes Developments.
