Description: Maine Federal Aid Project No. 2309401 WIN 021751.0 - Bridge Strengthening, Electrical & Mechanical Upgrades, Fender Systems Replacement, Control House Replacement, Replacement ofExisting Barrier Gates and Traffic Warning and Control System Location: In Lincoln County, Southport bridge is located on State Route 27' Hendricks Hill Road/ Western Avenue over Townsend Gut on the town line. Scope of Work: Southport bridge rehabilitation plus other incidental work. For general information regarding Bidding and Contracting procedures, contact George Macdougall at (207) 624-3440. Questions received after 12:00 noon of Monday (or if that Monday is a state holiday, Friday) prior to bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other Departmental staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the Department will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. P.No- STP-2175(100) Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of 5 of the bid amount, payable to Treasurer, State of Maine as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and 4 Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws. This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. The right is hereby reserved to the MaineDOT to reject any or all bids. MEDOT - Southport Bridge Rehabilitation - Boothbay Harbor and Southport - Region 2 Please Note: Only bidders prequalified for this specific project through the Letter of Interest process earlier this year will be allowed to submit bids. The purpose of this rehabilitation project is to: 1) Restore load carrying capacity. a. Includes: strengthening on the approach spans and miscellaneous structural steel strengthening/repairs on the movable truss span. 2) Replace damaged or obsolete mechanical components. 3) Replaced outdated bridge electrical and control systems. a. Includes: control house replacement, traffic signals and warning gates. 4) Repair/replace timber fender system at center pier. DBE participation goal of 1.97% craft tradesperson goals are 6.9% women and .5% minorities employed The specified Contract Completion Date is May 30, 2025.
