A. This Contract is for culvert repairs and to provide riprap slope protection measures along the MSE wall supporting Light Rail adjacent to the Twin Oaks Road grade crossing. 1. Culvert repairs at the following location, as shown in the drawings: Culvert under Twin Oaks Road and Light Rail (Site No.1) 2. Riprap slope protection and gabion basket installation at the following location, as shown in the drawings: Twin Oaks Road to CM 332+18 (Site No. 2) CM 334+52 to CM 334+88 (Site No.3) B. The work involves: 1. Installation of erosion and sediment control (same-day stabilization and dewatering) as needed for each task. 2. Provide maintenance of traffic as needed for each task. 3. Culvert Repairs including brick and mortar work, shotcrete wall construction, concrete spall repair, invert paving and joint repairs. 4. Clearing and grubbing slope to remove vegetation including roots as needed to place the riprap slope protection and gabion baskets. 5. Filling in erosion gullies with AASHTO #57 stone prior to slope regrading. 6. Grading of slope as necessary to allow for the installation of riprap slope protection and gabion baskets. Any excess material as a result of slope grading shall be transported to an approved MTA disposal facility. 7. After slope grading and prior to riprap slope protection and gabion basket placement, compaction of slope to densify the surface soil. 8. Installation of geotextile fabric as specified on Contract Drawings. 9. Installation of riprap slope protection and gabion basket, filling basket with stone. 10. Stabilize the site.
