Bidders shall comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A 10:5-31 and N.J.A.C. 17-27 et seq. It is the intent ofthis Specification to procure a direct replacement for the existing A-Battery Return Activated Sludge pumps at the Authority's Little Ferry Plant As a direct replacement, there are to be no changes to the existing piping, baseplate or motor drive configuration. This procurement is for a complete pump only which shall include but is not limited to Pump housing, casing, front-head assembly, wear rings, bearings, seals, etc. 1.) Existing Pump: Worthington Model 8FL-16 Serial # 1348728 2000gpm@ 15'TDH 700RPM Impeller Rotation CCW 2.) Replacement Pump Replacement pump shall be Worthington or approved equal and shall be dimensionally and hydraulically identical to the original Pump housing, volute and front-head shall be hard close grained cast iron, Meehanite or nodular iron suitable for the abrasive action ofthe service. Each component with a weight greater than 50 lbs. shall be equipped with a suitable lifting lug or eye-bolt. Pump bearings shall be grease lubricated and be sized to prove a BIO life of 100,000 hours minimum. Casing shall be single volute type and shall contain suitably placed hand holes for cleaning and inspection, Hand-hole internal cover configuration shall conform to the contour ofthe volute. Pump construction shall be such that the impeller assembly may be readily moved along the axis of mpeller shall be ofthe enclosed, single end suction and shall be built to pass sand, grit, solids, trash, rags and other stringy material. Impeller to be cast of a cast iron alloy containing not less than 1.5% Nickel and have high wear resisting qualities, have a minimum hardness of 207 Brinnel and be not less than 30,000psi tensile strength. Impeller shall be key seated and securely held to the shaft by a closed-end, streamlined Silicon Bronze or Stainless Steel nut. The arrangement shall be such that the impeller cannot unscrew or be loosened by torque from either forward or reverse rotation. Designs based on threaded connection between shaft and impeller will not be considered. Pump shall be machined and fully equipped with a split type, replaceable cartridge mechanical seal such as Chesterton 442 or approved equal. the pump and then positively fixed to provide adjustment for the wear of the rings or discs Each casing at its high point shall be provided with a vent connection of at least 1" NPT. Pump shall be equipped with renewable impeller and casing wear rings of 316 Stainless Steel. Equipment supplier is to submit for approval, details ofthe proposed pump prior to fabrication.
