Otterdale Road Widening involves the construction of approximately 6,000 LF of roadway widening from Hull Street Road (Rt. 360) to approximately 600 feet south of the Woolridge Road intersection. The work shall consist of reconstructing Otterdale Road, and existing 2-lane roadway, to become an ultimate 4-lane divided curb and gutter roadway. The project will also construct left and right turn lanes in certain areas, reconstruct existing substandard curves and install an upgraded storm drainage system featuring a new dual 10'x6' box culvert. The project will terminate at the southern end at Hull Street Road (Rt. 360) where VDOT, via their on-call signals contract, will implement traffic signal improvements and terminate at the northern end with connection to the existing 4-lane divided section of Otterdale Road. The work will include clearing, grading, asphalt paving, drainage structures/pipes, erosion & sediment control, signage, pavement markings and the utilization of traffic control devices in accordance with the latest edition of the VDOT Work Area Protection Manual, including a temporary road closure and traffic detour. Contractors must be on VDOT's current Pre-qualified list at the time/ date set for the opening of bids in order to be eligible for this contract.
