Renovation of a museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.

For planning purposes, please assume that construction work will occur onsite at FHC beginning on or after Tuesday, September 6, 2022, with limited equipment staging beginning prior to that date onsite. Completion of the project is expected by October 28, 2022. This project consists of the removal and replacement of Roof Areas A, B, and C, installation of interior roof drains and leaders, and other roof accessories as indicated in the Project Documents. The project also includes construction of an exterior canopy over mechanical equipment as indicated in the Project Documents. The project description is given only for the purpose of acquainting the Bidders with the Project and is not intended to give the Bidders a complete description of all the Work or materials. All dimensions and existing conditions are to be verified by the Bidder; dimensions shown on the drawings are taken from original building drawings. B. Portions of the Building Included: 1. This project includes the complete removal and replacement on the existing built-up roofs down to the structural decks; construction of an interior roof drain system with external discharge and the construction of an exterior canopy. C. Existing Roof Conditions (based on core cuts; existing systems may vary due to previous reroofing). The existing roof systems on all Areas are essentially the same and include: 1. Tongue and groove wood decking, 1 3/4" thick, covered with one layer of red rosin paper. 2. Tapered isocyanurate insulation, 1/8" per foot with a 2" base layer and 3/4 " perlite cover board, tapered to perimeter sheet metal scuppers and downspouts. 3. All perimeters are insulated, wood frame walls and parapets. 4. Penetrations include three obsolete curb penetrations, one power roof ventilator, one mechanical unit exhaust hood, plumbing vent stacks, one dual fireplace chimney and miscellaneous pipe penetrations. 5. Electrical conduits may be present on the roof decks beneath the insulation. The Contractor is to use caution when removing the existing roof and installation of the new roof. Coordinate all work with the Engineer and Owner. Provide a detailed schedule for the project prior to beginning work, and update weekly. The Contractor is responsible for the protection of the interior spaces beneath the roofing operations (all of the displays and other materials in the offices, common areas, and gift shop shall be covered by the contractor with poly during construction), as well as other adjacent areas around the building. The interior of the building will be occupied during the Project. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer and the Owner within two (2) days prior to work in an area which could adversely affect the interior conditions.
