The new combined middle school will serve 905 students in grades from 6-8. The proposed new middle school building is a three-story building of 162,193 gsf. The new building will be located to the north and east of the existing Bird Middle School. The new building will have the main entrances on the ground floor and three story classroom wings. Administration, auditorium, cafeteria, and kitchen with gym and media center on the second floor. The new school is targeting Net-Zero ready construction including VRF mechanical systems. The project is pursuing LEED Silver as part of the project.
