The work of the Contractor includes furnish and install all material, labor, equipment, apparatus, tools, transportation, and other incidentals required to accomplish the following: Replacement of the existing fire alarm system and upgrade the existing fire alarm conduit. This will necessitate close coordination between the School and the Contractor relative to fire alarm outage scheduling/duration and alarm testing. Contractor is also required to coordinate closely with the Jackson Township Fire District. Existing conduits are to remain and will be abandoned in place. There are two alternates, as follows: o Installation utilizing conduit (Contract No. 1). Installation of plenum-rated cable in lieu of conduit (Contract No. 1A). Bidders shall contact Edward Crawford, Manager of Facilities & Grounds at 732/473-3112. Last Date to Submit Questions: All questions must be submitted in writing. No questions will be accepted or responded to after February 9, 2022. The Board of Education does not accept electronic email or facsimile submissions of bids. Bid Security will be in the amount of 10% of the total bid shall be supplied in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond, but not in excess of $20,000.00. The successful bidder is hereby notified that a performance bond for the full amount of the project is required. Project Schedule: Project is expected to start on or about June 1, 2022 and must be completed no later than September 1, 2022. Project to have a Liquidated Damages Clause of $1,000.00 per day after completion date indicated. Bids will be received as a single prime contract for all phases of work. Quantities are estimates and the Board of Education reserves the right to increase quantities by 20% or decrease quantities by 100% as specified in the specifications pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:30-11.2 and 11.10. No Minimum Purchase Is Implied or Guaranteed. The Board of Education Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids, Pursuant to N.j.s.a. 18a:18a-18, N.j.s.a. 18a:18a-2(S), (T), (X), (Y), 18a:18a:-4(a-c), and N.j.s.a. 18a:18a-22, and to Waive Any Informality, and to Waive All Immaterial Information, if It Is in the Public Interest of the Board to Do So.
