As of April 7, 2022, the project has not been awarded yet. It is expected to be awarded in early May. The Parks Department is requesting quotes for work to replace a portion of existing bituminous concrete sidewalk along Pond Street with the installation of a porous flexible paving surface. Work includes the removal and disposal of existing bituminous concrete, base/sub-grade material and preparation constructed as to support foot traffic and light vehicular equipment. Installation of Porous flexible paving material over prepared sub-surface. Contractor must provide all work zone traffic and safety control, barriers and dumpsters, etc. The bid quote must include all labor, materials, bailing, shoring, removal, overhead, profit, insurance, etc. to cover the finished work. Bid deposit of 5% is required, Prevailing wages apply to this project, as well as a 50% Payment bond of the quoted price upon receiving the Notice of Award. Questions will be received through 2:00pm Wednesday, March 2nd by email only to parks@cityofnewburyport.com. The Contract Agreement will be valid from March 15 through June 30, 2022. Proof of Workman's Compensation, OSHA certification and a Certificate of Liability Insurance are required.
