The Project includes the following Doors Replacement at Westridge Elementary, located at 5500 Ep True Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa 50266. 1. Removal and replacement of two building entry storefront systems (including both the exterior doors/glazing and the interior vestibule doors/glazing at both the main north entrance and the main east entrance). 2. Removal and replacement of specific building interior/exterior doors and select frames. 3. Doors will be replaced with new systems per District specification. 4. All door frames replaced or left in place will be painted. Bid Proposals will be Considered and acted upon by the WDMCS District at the school Board's normally scheduled meeting at 7:00pm (Central Time) on February 28th, 2022 (or at such later time and place as may then be fixed), in the WDMCS Learning Resource Center, located at 3550 Mills Civic Parkway; West Des Moines, Iowa 50265. The Project site will be available to commence work starting on June 6th, 2022. The project areas shall be completed by August 12th, 2022. The Contract Documents, including Plans, Specifications, and Form of Contract will be available at qualified plan rooms and at the Beeline + Blue Online Distribution Plan Room Bid Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security of five (5) percent (%) from bid bond, cashier's check or certified check in the same amount. The bid security shall be provided to the WDMCS District as security that if the bidder is awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract on the form provided by the WDMCS District at the price bid and shall furnish the required performance bond, payment bond and Certificate of Insurance. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance bond, payment bond or Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the WDMCS District as liquidated damages Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades. Bidders may be required to provide evidence of experience with similar project types of similar scale. The Board of West Des Moines Community School District reserves the right to conduct such investigations as it deems necessary to assist in evaluation of bid proposals and to establish the responsibilities, qualifications and financial abilities of the proposed bidders, subcontractors, suppliers or other organizations. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor.
