All work shall be performed in accordance with the statement of work (beginning on page 5) and the attached specifications and drawings, dated 09/14/2021. Delivery: 210 Days After Notice to Proceed Background: The PPQ Phoenix Rearing Facility (PRF) is located in Phoenix, AZ, and owned by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The facility was constructed in 1973, is approximated 68,000 SF, and a single-story structure consisting of office areas, employee break areas, laboratories, process rooms, environmental rooms and chambers, warehouse, maintenance, and utility areas. The last renovation took place in 1994. The existing Edwards addressable fire alarm system has reached the end of its useful life. Parts for the system are no longer manufactured nor available. The fire alarm system is backed up by a Cummins/Onan 400KW diesel generator. The existing fire alarm system is connected to ASSI Security Company. In the event of a fire alarm, ASSI would call the fire department. Per the last Facility Condition Reassessment dated November 2017, the existing fire alarm system was put on the priority list to be replaced within one to two years. Description: USDA seeks construction services to furnish and install a new, fully addressable fire alarm system per the final design documents prepared by Cushing Terrell, dated September 14, 2021. The existing fire alarm system shall remain operable at all times during construction. The contractor shall coordinate with the owner for phasing and any arrangements/procedures necessary during installation activities per the owner's facilities guidelines. Once the new system is connected and in a functional state, the contractor shall coordinate the phased turnover approach with the owner and the Designer of Record. Items that are unclear in the Statement of Work shall be brought to the attention of the EPM and the PPM/Owner. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
