Board of Education of School District 155 that sealed bids will be received for Outdoor Pavilions, Lockers, and Gym Floor Replacement at Woodrow Wilson School, Wentworth Intermediate School, and Wentworth Jr. High School in the following bid categories: Bid Package #1 - Excavation; Bid Package #2 - Concrete; Bid Package #3 - Carpentry and General Construction, Bid Package #4 - Electrical, Bid Package #5- Flooring, and Bid Package #6 - Lockers. This project titled "SD155 OUTDOOR PAVILIONS, LOCKERS, AND GYM FLOOR REPLACEMENT" consists of the following major elements: 1.Site work and general construction for new classroom pavilions on 3 sites; 2.New Playground equipment and surface at 1 site; 3.Removal of existing lockers and replacement with new corridor lockers; 4.Removal of existing gym floor and replacement with new sports flooring system; 5.All other work indicated on the drawings and in the project manual for this project. B. All work on this project will be awarded to multiple prime contractors. C. Any required asbestos abatement work in existing school building will be performed by a separate abatement contractor under the direction of the Owner's consultant. Owner and Architect reserve the right to exclude contractors from bidding this project, if upon review of the Contractor's Qualification Statement submitted, the particular contractor is not found qualified to successfully execute this type of project. Exclusion may be based upon contractor's past experience, performance or financial stability. The successful Contractors will be required to furnish to the Owner a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of the total contract portion pertaining to their work. The "Prime" Bidder shall submit a Bid Bond or Certified Check payable to the Owner for 5% of the amount of the base bid with his bid, which sum shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages if the prime contractor awarded the contract refuses to sign the Contract Agreement, as presented in the construction manual, and file an approved Surety Company's Bond for the full amount of the contract, in accordance with the terms of the project manual, with fifteen (15) days after being awarded the contract.
