The Project shall be bid as a single prime contract. The Project will commence on Monday, June 6th, 2022 upon a Notice to Proceed, and after the award ofthe contract, bond documents and insurance are received from the contractor and reviewed for compliance with the bid specifications. The final completion date for the Project is Friday, August 12th, 2022. Bidders will be required to provide a security deposit, in the form of either an approved Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety company authorized to do business in the State ofIowa, cashiers or certified check, or certified share draft in the amount offive percent (5%) ofthe amount ofthe bid, in a separate attached envelope. Bid security shall be made payable to the Pleasant Valley Community School District. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% ofthe Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. Should the successful bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory performance/payment bonds, refuse to enter into a Contract on the basis ofthe bid, or fail to meet the requirements ofthis Notice and the specifications regulating the award, the bidder's security may be retained as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period ofsixty (60) calendar days after the date and hour set for opening ofbids. The Board of Education may make the contract award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests ofthe Pleasant Valley Community School District.
