The bids are for a Single Prime Contracts for the demolition of the old school, located at the corner of 11th Ave and 12st Street in Eldora, IA. . The project consists of the complete demolition of the old school, to include removal of a skywalk entrance into an adjacent building, patching back the adjacent building at location of skywalk. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Work is anticipated to commence May 1, 2022, and be completed by June 30, 2022, in one phase as shown on the Contract Documents. A public hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held at South Hardin High School, Media Center at 1800 24th Street, Eldora, IA, at 6300 p.m., local time, on February 21st, 2022, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and the estimated cost of said project. Bidders are being provided with a set of specifications. Bidders should do a site investigation to see existing conditions of the building and surrounding area. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The award of the contract may be made by Eldora-New Providence Community School District to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner.
