Work to be performed includes: The project will include site work, installing generators, electrical equipment, automatic controls, seismic adapters, and piping at the six sites throughout the Lakewood Water District ser-vice area. As a guarantee of good faith and as required by law, each Bid shall include a Bid Deposit in the form of cash, postal money order, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond, payable to the order of the Lakewood Water District, for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount, of such Bid. Such Bid Deposits must. be enclosed within the sealed envelope at the time the Bid is submit-ted to the District. Checks shall be made payable to Lakewood Water District.. Bidders shall hold. their bid prices for forty-five (45) calendar days after bid opening. Deposits of the three low Bidders will be retained until a contract has been entered into between the success-ful Bidder and the District. The selected Contractor, prior to cornmencing work, shall furnish a Performance and Payment Bond. in an amount of not less than the total Contract; Price including the estimated taxes, W-9 form, and Lnsurance Certificates and Endorsements. The successful Bidder shall be required to have a business license with th.e City of Lakewood. No payment shall be made to the selected Contractor until proof of such licensing is pro-vided to the District. The Contractor agrees to per-form the complete Contract work as specified, including correc-tions, finish, and cleanup as fol-lows: 1) Substantial completion of all work shall be within 80 calen-dar days, beginning with the date given in the Notice to Proceed by the Lakewood Water District; and 2) Completion of all work includ-ing corrective work as required by the District's final inspection shall be within 90 calendar days of th.e date given in th.e Notice to Proceed. Failure to complete the work within the specified completion times may result in assess meat of liquidated damages as set out in Section. 00500 Agreement. The Owner, Lakewood Water District, reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive any irregularities or informali-ties, and accept any bid if such action is believed to be in the best interest of the District. Each Bid shall be submitted on the pre-scribed forms included with the Contract Documents. All bidders must meet the requirements and include all parts listed in Section 00200 of the Bid Documents to be a qualified bidder.
