Renovation of a fire / police facility in Myrick, Oregon. Working plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The owner has selected a Construction Manager. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District ("the Owner") Requests Proposals from experienced Construction Manager/General Contractors (CM/GC) for the construction of the Fire Stations 11 & 12 Seismic Rehabilitation Project. Project Scope of Work: The project consists of seismic strengthening Fire Station 11 &12. The complete Request for Proposal may be reviewed and obtained from https://umatillafire.org/. The CM/GC firms responding to this RFP will be evaluated based upon company overview, firm experience, similar project history, and other criteria identified in this RFP. This solicitation does not obligate the Owner to pay any costs incurred in preparation of Proposals. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Proposal that is not in compliance with all prescribed requirements. For good cause, the Owner may reject any or all Proposals upon a written finding that it is in the public interest to do so. ANY PROTEST OR REQUEST FOR CHANGE MUST BE DELIVERED IN WRITING to Scott Stanton, Interim Fire Chief at PO Box 456, Umatilla, OR 97882, ON OR BEFORE SEVEN (7) DAYS PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE FOR PROPOSALS. Seismic strengthening for Fire Station 11 will likely consist of the following elements • Installing FRP to reinforce CMU shear walls at front of the Apparatus bay. • Add FRP connection at CMU to Concrete footing interface around building perimeter. • Installing new footing beneath shear wall at Apparatus Bay to provide an adequate bearing capacity to resist overturning. • Add HSS columns support CMU piers for out of plane loading at Apparatus Bay. • Provide in plane shear connection between the CMU walls and roof diaphragm. • Provide out of plane anchors to connect the CMU walls to roof diaphragm. • Provide crossties that provide continuity between diaphragm chords. • Reinforce existing plywood sheathing with supplemental nailing and blocking to strengthen the existing diaphragm. Seismic strengthening for Fire Station 12 will likely consist of the following elements • Anchor mezzanine to slab on grade using sill bolts. • Replace existing cable braces. • Install horizontal rod braces at the roof to provide a diaphragm and detail connections accordingly for load transfer. • Install new rod braced frames at strategic locations to be used as lateral system. • Provide new footings for steel columns and strengthen column anchorages to resist corresponding uplift forces. • Add steel moment frames and collector beams at apparatus bay opening to complete load
