The City of Kansas City, is soliciting bids for Construction Manager at Risk Services f or Project No. 07P22025-02 - City Hall Garage and South Plaza Restoration CM@Risk. In the event of technical difficulties with the MS Teams web link the meeting can be joined via teleconference at the following telephone number: +1 872-212-5076 Chicago, and Conference ID: 918-794-770# The City desires that Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women's Business Enterprises (WBE) have a maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of City contracts. The goals for this specific Project are 15% MBE participation and 15% WBE participation. The City of Kansas City, Missouri, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. If interviews are held, the scheduled date for interviews is during the week of Thursday March 10, 2022. Invitations shall be extended to shortlisted bidders. Bidders are strongly advised to attend via the MS Teams Web Link in order to Sign-In to the meeting attendance log and send questions via the MS Teams chat tool and view the online presentation. Those attending via teleconference are required to Sign In by emailing the following information to the Project Manager and Contract Administrator: 1) The telephone number from which you called into the teleconference, 2) your full name, 3) your organization name, 4) your email address, 5) your telephone number (if different from above), 6) state whether you are a "Bidder" or a "Non-Bidder". The roof of the garage under the paved areas of the South Plaza isin poor condition and leaksrainwater into the garage. Some of the concrete isspalling and reinforcement is corroding. This projectseeksto: demolish and restore part of the garage roof and South Plaza; provide ADA compliant accessible walkway from Locust Street to the City Hall's south entrance; add a second emergency egressstairway at the northeast corner of the garage between Locust Street and the City Hall building; and construct a new security pavilion at the south entrance to City Hall. In addition, the following optional additions are being considered: (a) relocating an existing trash compactor from within the garage to an external location adjacent to Oak Street, (b) providing public accessto the City Hall'ssouth entrance from Oak Street via an external elevator, and (c) to convert the garage entrance to a public entrance by remodeling the entrance of the garage to incorporate security screening facilities The Kansas City's City Hall building islocated in the block bounded by Oak, Locust, 11th , and 12th Streets, in Kansas City, Missouri. This 29-story structure houses offices and is located on the north side of the block while South Plaza area is on the south side of the block. The South Plaza connects the City Hall's south entrance on the First Floor of the City Hall building to Locust Street and 12 th Street via a paved areas with stairs, walls, statues, fountains, and lawn areas. The underground garage structure underlies the South Plaza area and has pedestrian access from City Hall's basement level entrance. Vehicular access to the garage is via a ramp driveway to Oak Street.
