Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for an educational facility in White Lake, Michigan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
The Walled Lake Consolidated School District's Board of Education will receive firm prime contractor bids to provide asbestos abatement prior to demolition of Dublin Elementary School. This projects will be completed in July and August 2022, prior to planned building demolition activities and will include the removal and disposal of all asbestos thermal system insulation, asbestos plaster ceilings, asbestos glue pods for acoustical ceiling tiles, asbestos gluepods associated with tectum boards, asbestos floor tile, asbestos floor tile mastic, asbestos transite ceiling panels, interior and exterior doors with asbestos caulk, tagged fire doors, tagged fire door frames, interior windows with asbestos caulk and exterior windows with asbestos caulk and glazing materials. A bid bond executed by a Treasury listed surety company acceptable to the Walled Lake Consolidated School District or a cashier's check in the amount of at least 5% of the sum of the proposal payable to the Walled Lake Consolidated School District shall be submitted with each proposal over $26,046. All proposals shall be firm for a period of sixty (60) days. Successful bidders whose proposals are $50,000 or more will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond by a Treasury listed surety in the amount of 100% of their bid. The cost of the Bond shall be included in each proposal. In compliance with MCL 380.1267, bid proposals shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education or the Superintendent. Additionally, bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement for the Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit of Compliance and Affidavit of Compliance - Criminal Background Checks. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include these sworn and notarized disclosure statements. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids in whole or in part and to waive any informality or irregularity therein, or to award the contract to other than the low bidder, in its sole discretion. Walled Lake Consolidated School District reserves the right to accept the bid which in its opinion, is in the best interest of the Owner.
