The existing Mechanics Bank Convention Center Lobby is located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield, CA. The intent of this project is for the City to enhance the aesthetics of the existing lobby to bring it a more modern and livelier feeling. This project will take a two-step approach to the lobby remodel and enhancements. The first phase will be to develop the preliminary conceptual design with schematics and color renderings. Once the City management teams select a particular option, then the second phase will be to develop the final construction documents, including the final design for the project. The actual construction funding will be budgeted in FY 22/23. The selected firm shall have event center and concert venue experience, and shall primarily examine aesthetic updates, attendee flow, food and beverage points of sale, and various other modifications to bring the lobby facility up to current standards for large event facilities. However, in order to download these files, the requestor must first register as a vendor on this website; there is no charge for this registration. Registration is absolutely necessary in order to be listed on the Prospective Bidders List which ensures receipt of notice regarding any addenda for this solicitation.
