Site work and paving for a road / highway in Blanchard, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of April 05, 2022, this project was awarded to Eurovia Atlantic Coast LLC for $26,714,177.85. This contract provides for the asphalt resurfacing of the travel lanes, shoulders, portions of the Allegheny Valley interchange ramps and portions of the Oakmont Plum service plaza ramps. Work will also include Cut Slope Remediation, Fill Slope benching, shoulder reconstruction, bridge deck concrete patching, inlet repairs, guide rail upgrades, slab stabilization, installation of S.N.A.P., Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Markings, and post mounted signs. Maintenance and Protection of Turnpike traffic is also included. Major work items include the following approximate amounts: 48,839 CY Excavation, Class 1, 1A, 1B Excavation 19,831 CY Selected Borrow Excavation Rock, Type A 11,386 CY Selected Borrow Excavation Rock, Type B 8,000 TONS Subbase 410,218 SY Milling of Existing Asphalt Pavement, Various Depths 14,264 TONS Superpave Wearing Course, PG 64S-22, 12.5 MM MIX, SRL-E 32,348 TONS Superpave Wearing Course, PG 64E-22, 12.5 MM MIX, SRL-E 20,814 TONS Superpave Binder Course, PG 64S-22, 19 MM MIX 135 EACH Inlet Repairs 1,125 LF Type 2-S Guide Rail 16,375 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 84,964 EACH Sonic Nap Alert Pattern (SNAP) 513 LF Rock Armor 1,849 CY Rock Armor, Modified 10,903 LF Compost Filter Sock, 12", 18", and 24" 247,975 LF Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking (PPPRP) 6,396 LF Single Face Concrete Barrier Milepost 47.05 is located approximately 0.6 miles west of the Allegheny Valley Interchange, Exit 48 and Milepost 56.38 is located approximately 0.5 miles west from the Pittsburgh Interchange, Exit 57 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners. Cost Code Range: $20,000,000 -$30,000,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This work includes all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for removal and resetting of rock fence to clean behind existing single face concrete barrier. All wire rope, turnbuckles and associated assembly hardware shall be replaced at each remove and reset location Remove the existing Anchor cable, protective fencing, and necessary hardware to perform cut slope remediation and rock slope cleaning as indicated on the plans. Prior to resetting the Rock Fall Fence, replace all wire rope, turnbuckles and assembly hardware at each remove and reset location. The contractor and Representative shall inspect the protective fence for portions damaged, distorted or worn protective fencing. Portions, sections, or layers of the protective fencing shall be removed and replaced in kind as directed. prior to reassembling the Rock Fall Fence. Upon reassembly adjust and tighten the entire system.
