Work is more particularly described as 10,350 Tons of asphalt, 2,600 square yards of cold milling, 71,100 square yards of base stabilization, 2,250 tons of shoulder aggregate on various roads with pavement markings, monument boxes, and miscellaneous items Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified/cashier's check or Bid Bond on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable to the St. Clair County Road Commission or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid as guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a contract. This work shall be in accordance with the current Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction, Standard Plans and Supplemental Specifications. The SCCRC, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of gender, disability, race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, waive irregularities in any bid and make award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the County. This Proposal shall be legibly prepared with ink or submitted electronically. UNIT PRICES, AND LUMP SUM BIDS when called for on the itemized bid sheet, shall be entered in ink, in the Unit Price column. The unit prices as stated will govern in determining the correct total of bid. If a unit price already entered by the bidder on the bid sheet is to be altered, it shall be crossed out with ink, the new unit price entered above or below it and initialed by the bidder, also with ink. Proposals with any unit price prepared with pencil or omitted will be rejected. Failure to fill in the extensions and the total may invalidate the Proposal.
