Demolition and site work for a residential development in Portage, Indiana. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
**The work was awarded to GE Marshall and OSI Environmental. The project is substantially complete.** Demolition of Structures and UST System Closure at 5439 Central Avenue, in Portage, Indiana Work to be performed on the above project includes but is not limited to demolition of an abandoned automobile service station, removal and disposal of existing structures, light poles, pump islands, signs, pavement, foundations, underground storage tank system, underground utilities, and all other appurtenances, all as shown on the drawing including all appurtenances and ancillary facilities. Each bid (one original and two copies) must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check, for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid payable to the City of Portage Redevelopment Commission as security for execution of the contract under the terms embodied in the Contract Documents. Bid security of all excepting the three lowest responsive, responsible Bidders will be returned within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids. The remaining bid securities will be returned within fourteen (14) days after the successful Bidder has executed the contract, bonds, etc. If the contract is not executed, any Bidder whose bid security has been retained may, after sixty (60) days after the opening of bids, request return of his bid security provided he has not been notified of acceptance of his bid. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. However, no bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the scheduled time for opening, unless agreed to by the Portage Redevelopment Commission or specifically permitted by law. The work under these contract documents consists generally of demolition and removal of the underground storage tank system, as shown on the drawings, described in these specifications, and determined during the walk-through for the former filling station located at 5439 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana. Contracts will be entered into between the Portage Redevelopment Commission as "Owner" and the successful Bidders. The award of the contract will be made by the Portage Redevelopment Commission to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder. In determining the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder, the Portage Redevelopment Commission will consider the Bid, and all other relevant facts or matters mentioned in the Contract Documents or which the Portage Redevelopment Commission may legally consider in determining the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder. The Portage Redevelopment Commission reserves the right to reject any bid for failure to comply with all requirements of this "Advertisement for Bids" or any of the Contract Documents; however, it may waive any informalities or minor defects at its discretion.
