Renovation of an educational facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Bidder shall refer to the Instructions to Bidders, bound in the Project Manual, for additional bidding procedures and requirements. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Franklin Township Community School Corporation, an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or an acceptable bidder's surety bond made payable to the Franklin Township Community School Corporation, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or Bidder's Bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the Contract is awarded to him, execute within fifteen (15) days from the acceptance of his bid, a contract for the work bid upon and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the Specifications. However, if the Contractor has not executed the Contract within the fifteen (15) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptance surety bonds as indicated, the Owner reserves the right to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and the bid security will be forfeited. Questions regarding the project should be addressed to Scott Jackson of Roof Management, Inc. Bid Forms shall be properly and completely submitted on Contractor's Bid for Public Bidding Form No. 96 (revised 2000) as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts for the State of Indiana, in addition to the Bid Form included in these Specifications. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Franklin Township Community School Corporation, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities if deemed to be for the best interest of the School District. All bidders must conform to the anti-discrimination provisions of the Indiana Law. The contractor must show proof that they have the Highest Quality Contractor Rating available from the specified manufacturer for the current year. 2. The contractor is to certify in writing that all shingles were manufactured in a single lot/run to ensure consistent shingle appearance. Failure to meet this requirement will result in replacement of non-conforming shingles at the contractor's expense. 3. Remove the existing shingles, underlayments and sheet metal flashings down to the existing decking. Cut existing ice and water shield membrane along the joints of the existing nail base joints and remove any loose/disbonded ice and water shield membrane. Do not remove the adhered ice and water shield. Any damaged wood decking resulting from abuse or attempted removal of the adhered ice and water shield will be replaced at the contractor's expense, at no cost to the Owner. 4. Replacement of 256 sq/ft of the existing nail base (OSB sheathing and Polyisocyanurate), including any required 1" thick matching spacers, is to be included in the Base bid. Any replacement in excess of or less than the 256 sq/ft included in the base bid will be adjusted based on the unit prices provided on the bid form. 5.
