The Notice of Intent to Award the Bid will be given by the Jones County Conservation Board at the Jones County Conservation Board Meeting held at 6:30pm on February 28, 2022 located at 12515 Central Park Road, Center Junction, IA 52212 This project consists of mobilization, traffic control, clearing and grubbing, erosion control, excavation, reinforced boat ramp construction, gravel parking and drives, revegetation, and incidental work as required by the plans and/or the Engineer. A more detailed description of work and estimated quantities of materials and types of construction for which the bids will be received are set forth in the Bid Form included in the specifications prepared by LT Leon Associates, Inc. Each bidder shall accompany the bid with a bid security as defined in Iowa code section 26.8. The bid security must be in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal and made payable to the Jones County Conservation Board. Failure to execute a contract for the proposed work and file an acceptable Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a certificate of liability insurance within thirty (30) days of the date of the award of the contract will be just and sufficient cause for the rescinding of the award and the forfeiture of the bid security. The Jones County Conservation Board reserves the right to defer acceptance of any proposal for a period not to exceed sixty (60) calendar days from the date of letting. The Jones County Conservation Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. The work on this project shall commence within fourteen (14) days after receipt by the contractor of a written notice to proceed, and shall be substantially completed by September 30, 2022, subject to any changes in the contract period. Liquidated damages in the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) per day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period, with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to the conditions beyond control of the Contractor.
