The County will be following informal bidding procedures as set forth in the NC General Statutes. The scope of work consists of renovating existing County owned storage space in preparation for relocating 911 services into the facility. Potential contractors will be expected to: 1- Demolish one non-structural existing wall 2- Provide materials and fixtures to construct one ADA compliant restroom 3- Remove one door, and provide and install "pass-through" window in location 4- Install customer supplied flooring throughout the project area 5- Provide and install overhead soundproofing/insulation 6- Provide and install furring and drywall over existing masonry walls 7- Provide and install wall paint for project area 8- Provide and install electrical outlets to meet the needs of the new facility. 9- Provide and install "mini-split" HVAC for new server room Potential contractors shall hold appropriate professional licenses and will be required to provide proof of liability insurance and workers compensation. Proposals for this project shall be guaranteed by all bidders for a period of 60 calendar days following the bid opening. Project work is required to be completed by 6/1/2022. Alleghany County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any irregularities in bids, and to accept other than the lowest bid when determined to be in the county's best interest. The County and its contractor agree to ensure that MBE/WBE/HUB/DBE's have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contract and subcontracts financed in whole or in part with Alleghany County funds provided under this agreement. In this regard, bidders and contractors shall take all necessary and reasonable steps in accordance with N.C.G.S. 143-128 to ensure that MBE/WBE/HUB/DBE firms have the maximum opportunity to compete and perform under this bid, any change orders and any subsequent contract. The County and its contractors shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in the award and/or performance of this contract.
