The City of Mayfield invites bids for the mowing ofHighland Park Cemetery, Maplewood Cemetery,and Peaceful Valley Cemetery. Bids shall besubmitted based on a per mowing basis. The cemeteries shall be mowed to the satisfaction ofthe city and the mowing will include "weed eating"around all headstones, trees, benches and fencesalso the "blowing" of grass offof the headstones. Itis preferred that the cemetery be mowed and "weedeated" the during the same week. Limbs may begathered and placed near roads in cemetery for theCity to remove. City must be notified of the limbsto be picked up.The cemeteries ordinarily will be mowed between April 1 and October 31, however,the City of Mayfield will notify bid winner of a startdate and end date. During drought conditions, thecity reserves the right to not have the cemeteriesmowed and during times of excessive grass growth,the city reserves the right to have the cemeteriesmowed as needed. No herbicidesshall be used onthe ground around grave markers.The selectedcontractor will befina ncially responsible for anydamage caused during the mowing or "weedeating" of the cemeteries.The bid winner will be awarded a contract for two(2) years. City retains the right to break contract, should contractor not meet the expectations of theCity, based on complains from the public.The winning biddershall present a certifica te ofliability insurance to the city in the amount of atleast $1,000,000.00,proof of worker's compensationinsurance, vehicular insurance and must have acurrent city business license. The City of Mayfield will not provide workman's compensation insurance or any type of insurance for mowing services.Bid packets will be available at Mayfield CityClerk's Office 1108 Cuba Road Suite B, Mayfield KY 42066 or call 270-251-6212 for directions.
